Liverpool has been well bolstered with the summer transfer window, but Arneslot could need more parts if he brings him to glory again next season.

The Anfield side won the Premier League last season after Jurgen Klopp stepped down from the iconic post. No one thought this relatively unknown coach of Feyenoord could carry the weight of a legendary departure, but Slot proves himself the perfect man to lead this club, defending the virtues deeply rooted in the soil of Merseyside.

And he was rewarded in the transfer market. FSG has destroyed Liverpool’s transfer records and signed Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Whartz with its first £100 million figure.

The slot also has a new full-back pairing to work with Jeremy Fripon and Milo Squelquez during their preseason outing against Liverpool’s emotional preseason Preston North End.

But the Liverpool head coach may still feel that something is missing in his rearguard.

Latest information on searching for Liverpool defenders

In May, the Liverpool chief was working on a deal to sign 20-year-old Dean Huyssen after an epic breakout year with Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The problem is that most famous clubs across the continent wanted Spanish International, a list that includes Real Madrid who actually won the race after activating his £50 million release clause.

While this in itself isn’t harmful to Liverpool’s cause, we feel it’s important for the Reds to push forward and sign the replacement now that Jarrell Kuansa has completed his £35m transfer to Bayer Lebakusen.

Well, FSG is fine.

Liverpool is preparing to launch a £40 million bid for Crystal Palace centre backmark Guech, according to reports broadcast by Mirror.

Guehi is understood to support a move to Anfield through Arsenal and Newcastle, but he wants to ensure playing time.

This could prove to be a sensitive situation given that England International (25) is willing to scale back contracts if a push occurs.

Why Liverpool wants Mark Guech

Guehi is a robust and trustworthy defender who has built himself up for many years at Crystal Palace, taking part in a £18 million deal from Chelsea four years ago.

His rounded technical qualities and deceptive attacks suggest that he is perfect for this high-flying Liverpool side, and given his two-legged and leadership skills, he may even be the replacement of Virgil van Dik.

Van Dyke is one of the greatest defenders of his generation and has helped to build the Klopp dynasty in Liverpool. Replacing him would be a difficult idea for any positional peer, but Guehi has what it needs.

Guehi has spent several years honing his skills in the Premier League, but now he is ready to take his leap to the highest level. Van Dijk did something similar.

But in reality, we can say Guehi is more accomplished than the Liverpool skippers did in the Southampton era. After all, Guehi captained the Eagles to an incredible FA Cup victory, beating Manchester City in the May final at Wembley.

However, looking at their respective performances over past semesters in the Premier League, it is clear that Guehi still has levels that expand two levels before claiming he is in the same stadium as Van Dijk.

But, undoubtedly, the species is there, and can prove that two seasons alongside legend will cut his tool to the sharpest edges, allowing him to become a superstar at Merseyside.

The palace man is technically sound and creative. Additionally, he emulates Van Dyke and arrives from a rival in the division under the ladder, and the Dutch captain joined Klopp’s cause from Southampton Way in January 2018, at a fee of £75 million, the defender’s world record.

Guehi’s ballplay game is actually pretty much underrated. He’s not certain in his pass and movement, and it’s surprising, and he calmly picks up and chooses teammates who are running smoothly, and makes things happen with sweep passes or by playing tide layoffs.

According to FBREF, temporary Chelsea prospects have ranked in the top 12% of the hearts of Europe’s top 5 leagues over the past year for shot-making action, indicating that the top 2% of thru-throughs are extremely useful for slots.

The action of creating a shot is a game that leads to a shot. These include moments like passing, take-on, fouls and more.

But Pedantry is important to an analytical mind like Michael Edwards. Guehi has been described by analyst Ben Mattinson as “one of the versatile centre-backs who can play both sides comfortably”, and the trend on the left only burns the argument that he could become a new version of the slot, Van Dijk.

Van Dijk is irreplaceable, but in Guehi, Liverpool may sign the closest to a possible successor. He is dynamic, combative and commanding, embodying the qualities required of Anfield’s Superstar Center Half.
