Manchester United reportedly identified Sports Lisbon defensive midfielder Morten Hojlmando as a possible inexpensive alternative to Carlos Bereba.
Man Utd has continued to pursue Baleba as his top priority this summer, but certainly not cheap, so you may need other options.
One of them is Hjulmand, and they could cost around £50 million, but according to Sun, Baleba’s asking price is as high as £120 million.
Baleba is young and already has experience with his name in the Premier League, so it makes sense that he probably has a higher market value, even if £110 million seems a bit sudden.
Hjulmand may not be a smart investment in the long run at £50 million, but Denmark International is a great player that Ruben Amorim knows well.
Morten Holmand of Manchester United’s radar
The Sun reports that Hjulmand remains on Amorim’s radar, so it will be interesting to see if he will be the most realistic option.
Brighton tends to eventually earn a star name, with Moises Kayseko, Alexis Mac Alistair and Joa Pedro among the most recent high-profile sales to major clubs.
Baleba can also be: but it’s also difficult for United to pay £120 million to Cameroon International after bringing in Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo and already spending a lot of money this summer.
Hjulmand meets Amorim again?
Hjulmand is an option worth exploring as he costs less than half that and probably doesn’t take much time to spend on Amorim’s request after working together in Lisbon.
Catch off side Juventus is also grateful to the 26-year-old, but he was previously informed of United’s interest in Yurmand.
The Portuguese outlet records also report on Hjulmand, previously being scouted by both United and Tottenham.
