Both a rookie and a veteran made their first appearances for the 2025 NFL season last week, and now it’s time for my preseason debut recap. Next up, we’ll highlight players who are poised for a strong second week of action. As of August 15th, here are some exciting prop bets for Week 2 of the preseason, brought to you by DraftKings Sportsbook.

For the Titans vs. Falcons matchup, consider betting on Cam Ward to throw a touchdown on the opening drive at +500 odds (a $10 bet could win $60). There’s also a long shot for Ward to rush a touchdown on the first drive at +3000 odds (bet $10 to potentially win $310). Last week, Ward completed five of eight passes for 67 yards in a loss to the Buccaneers.

In the Chiefs vs. Seahawks game, Sam Darnold throwing a touchdown on his first offensive drive is available at +350 (a $10 bet wins $45). Cooper Kupp scoring a touchdown on that first drive is at +1300 (a $10 bet could make $140). Darnold did not play in the Week 1 tie against the Raiders, and Kupp had only six touchdowns in 12 games last season.

For the Browns vs. Eagles, Dillon Gabriel throwing a touchdown on his first offensive drive is offered at +550 (bet $10 to earn $65). He rushing a touchdown on that drive is a long shot at +3000 (bet $10 to win $310). Gabriel is expected to start soon after Chedur Sanders’ recent injury during joint practice with the Eagles.

In the Packers vs. Colts matchup, Anthony Richardson throwing a touchdown on his first drive is at +600 (bet $10 for $70). Daniel Jones has the same odds for a touchdown on his first drive, while Jonathan Taylor rushing a touchdown stands at +1600 (bet $10 to win $170). Rookie Matthew Golden’s touchdown on his first drive holds +700 odds. Last week, Richardson had limited attempts, Jones was the primary QB, and Taylor has yet to debut. Golden caught a 7-yard pass last week.

For the Jets vs. Giants, Justin Fields throwing a touchdown on the first drive is +500 odds, and Jaxson Dart is slightly higher at +550. Fields completed three of four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown recently, while Dart went 12-for-19 with 154 yards and a 29-yard TD.

Finally, in the Chargers vs. Rams game, Justin Herbert is +350 to throw a touchdown on his first offensive drive. Herbert led the Chargers to a 27-13 win last week and threw 23 passing touchdowns during 2024.

Fan Take: This preseason betting guide offers NFL fans a deeper look at emerging and veteran talents as they prepare for the regular season. Watching rookies and established players vie for starting roles not only spices up the preseason but also hints at exciting storylines for the coming NFL year.
