British first issue, Jack Draper and Emma Radukane, face each other in this week’s first round of revamped US open-mix doubles.
The mixed doubles were moved before the main tournament on August 19th and 20th, putting a £1 million (£750,000) prize money in jeopardy for the winners of the 16 pairs of events.
Draper plays with American Jessica Pegura after former partners Paula Badosa and Tommy Paul retreat.
Both inside the top five in the single rankings, the pair are given a top seed and launches a campaign against wildcard pairs Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz.
The winners will be able to face 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and his partner Olga Danilovic if the Serb pair overcomes Mira Andreva and Danil Medvedev.
Venus Williams, 45, faces Karolina Mciba and Andrei Rublev alongside his fellow fellow Riley Opelka.
