Taylor Fritz credits girlfriend as she runs in the Wimbledon semi-finals

Morgan apparently knows the best.

Taylor Fritz thought that after losing at Wimbledon four years ago, the motivational note he wrote to himself would remain private. His girlfriend, influencer Morgan Riddle, later shared it on social media.

“That memo should never be published,” the smiling Fritz said after 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4) Karen Khachanov began the semi-finals with two-time defending champion Carlos Alkaraz.

Fritz wrote to himself with a note saying, “No one in the world has achieved more vigorously than you,” urging him to do his actions together.

Not only does Fritz praise Riddle, but he also praises her for having a huge impact on him rising to fifth in the world rankings in pursuit of his first Grand Slam title.

“We’ve had quite a certain level of results and ranking rise since we got together,” said Fritz, who finished second in the US Open last year. “I think I have to say she’s been a huge help to me.

“Like a mother of sorts,” he added, laughing at himself, “Looking at him and falling asleep on time.”

The smiling Fritz later added:

This is the first time Fritz has reached the final four at Wimbledon. He won two grass court titles this season, Stuttgart and Eastbourne. And I was delighted that he had not faced the clay Alcaraz, which would become an “absolute nightmare.”

“The grass is a very equalizer. It can be an equalizer, so I trust how I play,” he said. “I really know how I played the first two sets of today. There aren’t many opponents I can do on the other side.”
