Liverpool approaches a slower signature that has a greater impact than ekitike

Liverpool managed to claim three points to start their title defense, defeating Bournemouth on a frenzy night at Anfield.

But as cool as Arne Slot comes across, if he wants to maintain the Premier League crown while fighting for silverware on various other fronts of the campaign, he’ll know enough that his Liverpool does enough work for Ply.

In particular, Liverpool appeared to be under defense twice in a week since the 2025/26 season began. Cherry appeared from two goals before Federico Chiesa’s final magic on Friday after Crystal Palace recovered parity twice with the Community Shield before lifting the trophy.

We all hope that equilibrium will be restored and a greater balance will be achieved in Liverpool over the next few weeks, but the flow ency between the new defender and the deeper third is actually the front line that could attract attention.

The latest from Liverpool to Liverpool

The pursuit of Liverpool’s Newcastle United star striker continues to drag on. Isaac is eager to complete his move to Merseyside and is on strike from Eddie Howe’s team, but the Magpie will not sanction his departure without signing the appropriate replacement, but that hasn’t happened yet.

Given that Anfield’s sports director, Richard Hughes, already has seen the official £100 million offer and add-on rejected this month, Liverpool will only move after being encouraged by Toon officials. This clearly hasn’t happened yet.

The problem, of course, is that Ekitike started out in fashion that slugged the Reds’ career, scoring both his appearances for Liverpool so far, helping him face Bournemouth.

We welcomed a “great start” in the UK with Sky Sports’ Jamie Carrager. Jamie Carrager is Ekitique’s abundant openness as a Liverpool striker, portends a good future for the future, and relieves the need for free scoring centre forwards, especially Isaac, who needs the improvements needed in other areas.

And despite Liverpool signing young central Giovanni Leoni from Palma for a fee of £26 million last week, Hunt remains for a high-level defender.

Liverpool is still chasing the defender

Reports from Spain show that Liverpool will focus this month on completing the evening window deal for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guech, but Steve Parish has proven to be a difficult negotiator.

Guehi, 25, is in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park. Despite the hitch in previous discussions, Liverpool has been reportedly closed to England International landings at a rate of £305 million.

Whether FSG will pull off the difficult deal remains to be seen, but Guehi wants to get involved and things are expected to come to mind soon.

Why Liverpool wants to sign Mark Guech

Guehi certainly got off to a fresh campaign and starred before he left out Ebebekieze’s great free kick after Crystal Palace defeated Liverpool and lifted the Community Shield, but he also starred before he kept the clean sheet at Stamford Bridge.

And once he completes his move to Liverpool, the spotlight will continue to shine in hopes that the Reds are persuasive and expect him to be a “defense monster” that he has established a reputation like the Eagles.

A sturdy centre-back with a high-level technical game and a composed approach that offers one Virgil van Dyke shade, Guehi appears to be tailored for Liverpool.

Ekitike has won praise for his performance since trading Eintracht Frankfurt to Liverpool, but Guehi has what he needs to enjoy a better start at Liverpool.

Guehi, a skilled Premier League defender who captained his side towards two domestic trophies in a few months, knows the English scene well and proves to be a lackluster piece of puzzles seeking the glory of Anfield’s side.

Ibrahima Conate’s future was in the air and he played like he did with Bournemouth.

In contrast, Guehi proves the palace’s strength and pillar of calm, and if the slots can secure a version of the three Lions Stars, he can prove the cream of Liverpool’s transfer window, surpassing Ekichike and assures that this club moves towards the next glorious chapter.

FBREF has recorded Guehi ranks in the top 11% of the central backs of Europe’s top 5 leagues, top 10% of key passes and top 2% of the ball per 90 over the past year for shot-making action, so he’s not “Monster” in tough tacks, but with a defensive presence in the cultured river pool.

Given that Guehi is a complete package and has Premier League experience in the biggest level of the week, he proves to be the answer to slot problems, and weaves the flow ency of the ball, which prefers a flow like Ekitique and fellow recruits, whilst strengthening the backline.

In any case, it is most important that FSG seal this transaction. Liverpool is not sold shortly by itself at key moments across the term.
