According to Indykaila News, Marc Guehi has refused to approach both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the last 48 hours, revealing that his preference is a switch to Liverpool.
Widely regarded as one of the most promising centre-backs in the Premier League, the Crystal Palace defender has linked his journey away from Selhurst Park after entering the final year of his contract with the club.
Both Newcastle and Spurs have recently been offered and are looking to bolster their defensive options before the transfer deadline.
Tottenham and Newcastle are interested in Gehi
The Spurs have both Christian Romero and Mickey Van de Ben at the club, but they reportedly tried to sign Guech this summer.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United have long-term interest in Guehi, and although they tried to sign him multiple times last year, they were unable to continue the contract.
Despite the appeal of Champions League football and ambitious projects with Spurs with Newcastle, Gaehi stood firm and rejected their proposal.
England International is waiting for Liverpool. The Reds have been linked to England International over the summer and continue to explore options to refresh their defensive line.
With Virgil Van Dijk entering the later stages of his career and falling into the problems of injury that affects other centre-backs on the team, Guehi is considered an ideal candidate to intervene as both a long-term leader and an immediate contributor.
Mark Guech dreams of traveling to Liverpool
However, Liverpool has not yet made a formal bid. Merseyside Club carefully manages transfer budgets and prioritizes other areas of the team. Still, Guehi’s patience suggests that he is willing to wait for Anfield’s move, rather than committing elsewhere.
At Crystal Palace, his future remains uncertain. The Eagles prefer to maintain their defensive cornerstone, but once Guehi enters the final stages of his contract, they may be forced to negotiate if a critical offer arrives.
Former England boss Gareth Southgate described Gehi as a “exceptional” player.
