After agreeing to a deal to sign Douglas Lewis, Nottingham Forest reportedly took part in a race against Borussia Dortmund to sign the talent of the young Chelsea.

Nottingham Forest agrees to sign Douglas Lewis

It was a busy week or so on the ground in the city. James McAtee, Arnaud Karimend and Omali Hutchinson have all arrived, but Lewis is reportedly on the way from Juventus. According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest has now agreed to a deal worth 30 million euros (£26 million) to sign the Brazilian midfielder.

Evangelos Mariniakis has acted quickly and relentlessly in the transfer market ever since Nuno Espirito Santo aired his frustration that his team was not ready for the Premier League campaign.

The boss of Nottingham Forest told reporters before the Greek owner returned to the market. “Dealing with doubt is the worst thing you can have in football, and we have doubts.

“Not just me, but at the club. What we want is to be per game with as many options as possible. Europe will come later.

Espirito Santo’s concerns have been well rested as three signatures have been sealed and another has gone his way. However, Marinacus is not complete. Reports have been revealed this month that he is aiming to sign a Chelsea gem this month.

Nottingham Forest participates in the Chukhue Mecha Race

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest took part in the race this summer to sign Kearney Chukwiemeka. The midfielder was already the subject of an offer from Borussia Dortmund, and only was Chelsea rejected the German club’s proposal to leave Door Ajar to the forest movement.

After spending last year lending at Dortmund, the Bundesliga giant wants to welcome Chukwuemeka for another year. But Chelsea only entertains the permanent offer.

Having earned praise from Scout Jace Krig for his “great” Dortmund debut, Chakwemeka can certainly play at the top level when given the opportunity. However, it remains to be seen whether Forest will give him the opportunity to meet Chelsea’s demands.

Luiz’s arrival should solve an immediate mid-range problem, but the 21-year-old may represent a young talent who believes the forest chief will ultimately be able to step into Espirito Santo’s side as a long-term option.
