Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted there are new concerns surrounding Bukayo Saka’s fitness after the winger was forced to be kicked out during the Gunners’ latest outing.
The Arsenal winger was forced to play against Leeds United. This is the match in which the Gunners won 5-0 against Daniel Fark’s side at Emirates Stadium.
In addition to the injuries sustained by captain Martin Odegard, Arteta is currently facing a setback from the injuries suffered by Saka.
Saka appears to hold the hamstring during his conversation with Physio, suggesting that his hamstring has problems that allow him to avoid taking action for several weeks.
Mike Artta’s problem
Speaking to reporters after the match, Arteta revealed that the situation remains unknown, but the fact that Saka herself asked to be replaced is a concerning sign.
“We’ve got to wait to understand how long he’s going outside.” Arteta said as Fabrizio Romano reported.
“I haven’t spoken to the doctor yet, but it’s important for Bukayo to leave.”
Saka has built a reputation for his resilience and is regularly featured in matches despite his major challenges over the week.
He rarely signals the bench or asks to replace it.
Arsenal already loses Herberts and Odegard
That comes when gunners are already dealing with Kai Herberts and Odegard injuries.
Arsenal will face Liverpool in their next Premier League match at Anfield, and Saka is likely to miss the match despite the unknown extent of the injury.
His absence will be a huge loss for the North London Club, but they hope to replace him with the likes of Noni Maduce and the latest Ebebeki Eze.
