Liverpool has failed to sign Mark Guech from Crystal Palace on the deadline, despite agreeing to a fee with the Eagles.

Crystal Palace pulled out the plug of the deal after failing to secure a quality alternative to the 25-year-old Central Defender. Liverpool are keen to sign players, and they are likely to come back for him in the future. He will become a free agent next summer, and it remains to be seen whether Crystal Palace has decided to sell him at nominal price in January to avoid anything.

Liverpool was able to return to Mark Guech

According to journalist Louis Steele of the Daily Mail, Liverpool really likes the players and they want them to play for him. It will be interesting to see if you can complete the transaction in January.

“Yes, I asked this question to many sources around Liverpool on Monday evening, but they still said they really liked him and wanted him to play for him,” Steele said.

The 25-year-old certainly is drawn to the idea of joining the Premier League champions. He was very enthusiastic this summer, already completing his medicine with the Premier League champion.

It was a big step in his career and he would compete at the highest level. He’s definitely one of the best defenders in the league. He deserves to compete in the UEFA Champions League regularly. Liverpool was able to provide him with a platform to fight for the big trophy.

If Liverpool could sign him in January for a reasonable amount, the deal might look like a masterstroke in the long run. They need more quality and depth in their defense units, especially in Ibrahima Conate, who is approaching the end of his contract. The French International had not signed an extension and was able to leave as a free agent. The 25-year-old British could be the ideal alternative.
