Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that Angi Post Coglow was fired despite winning the Tottenham trophy last season.

The Australian tactician is now back in control, announced this week as the new Nottingham Forest Manager, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo to face Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

At a press conference on Friday, Arteta was given a rather pointed question about the fact that despite his controversial playing style, Postcoglo appears to be offering silverware.

The Spurs won the Europa League final last season with Post-Coglu management, but keeping him at work wasn’t enough.

Mikel Arteta seems to be interesting on Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs Sacking

Watch the video below as these questions about the trophy are placed in Arteta. Spanish tacticians have not actually taken bait as it seemed to be a line of questions designed to put Arsenal managers under the spotlight because they had not won the trophy for the past five years…

When asked if winning the trophy was the most important thing, Arteta correctly pointed out that it was clearly not always because Post Coglow didn’t continue his work at Tottenham.

For all the stories about the trophy, it is important to remember that Arsenal has been very consistent over the last few years, finishing second in a row.

There’s no trophy for that, but it’s definitely more difficult than finishing 17th and winning the Europa League like Tottenham did.

It will be interesting to see what the mood looks like between these two managers when we meet at Emirates Stadium on a Saturday afternoon.

Postecoglou has no good records against Arteta. After attracting 2-2 in his first North London Derby, they lost the subsequent three matches they played against each other.
