Michael Dawson advances Leeds after Fulham’s match

Leeds has yet to pick up a spot away from home this season. They fell to a 1-0 defeat at Fulham on Saturday. Gabriel Gudmanson’s goal in the 94th minute was the difference between the two teams, which was an annoying afternoon on Daniel Fark’s side.

Part of the responsibility for the outcome was placed at the feet of Dominic Calver Trewin, who signed as a free agent in the summer. The former Everton man, who hasn’t scored yet this season, had little effect in West London before being replaced by Lucas Nmeka in the 69th minute.

On a soccer Saturday (via Leeds United News), Michael Dawson was asked by host Simon Thomas about Calvert Lewin’s performance at Craven Cottage.

“Average, average of the van. Average. Yeah, very poor. He couldn’t get so many services. He couldn’t get many services, don’t get me wrong. He got one opportunity in the header. He hit the target, but you have to score.

“But apart from that, it wasn’t terrible. I mean, honestly, the game isn’t doing anything bad.”

It wasn’t the best start to Calvert Lewin’s life on Elland Road, but it was a very early stage in his Leeds career. He has time to start playing, but the pressure rises every week he doesn’t. In particular, Nmecha pushes him to the starting striker position in Farke’s lineup.
