The 2025 Ryder Cup at Beth Page Black Course in Farmingdale, New York is a few weeks away.

The Ryder Cup is a global matchup between professional American golfers and European golfers. It’s September 23rd-28th, with some of the biggest stars of golf coming in.

How the Rider Cup works

In the Ryder Cup, 12 European players compete with 12 US players in different types of competitions to accumulate points for each team, best ball, four ball and match play.

28 points will be offered over three days, with the first past 14 points winning. If the match ends with a 14-14 draw, the previous winner will hold the trophy. If the match is tied up, you will earn half the points of the team.

Team USA Qualifications

Following the BMW Championship on August 17, 2025, the top six eligible players on the US Ryder Cup Points list will form the team. Keegan Bradley has six captain picks to finish the team.

2024: Points earned per $1,000 for all players making cuts in the Player Championship and four major championships, Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and Open Championship.

2025 Regular PGA Tour Events: From January 1, 2025 to the end of the BMW Championship, which ends on August 17, 2025, we scored 1 point per $1,000 for all players.

2025 Major Championship (Master, PGA Championship, US Open, Open Championship): 1.5 points per $1,000 for all players making the cut.

Captains usually don’t play in the Ryder Cup.

Team Europe Qualifications

The European teams competing in the 2025 Ryder Cup shall be made up of six major members of the Ryder Cup Points list. Team captain Luke Donald selects the remaining six members.
