Liverpool faced Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League tonight, and are currently 2-1 since the first half.

Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah’s early goals have taken off to Liverpool for a tremendous start, so they’ve controlled the game for most of the first half. But they will be disappointed by Marcos Lorente’s late goal.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can produce strong performances in the second half and get the job done.

Gravenberch did well

Meanwhile, former Everton star Leon Osmann claims that Ryan Gravenberch is the best player on the pitch. The Liverpool midfielder has been outstanding over the past 12 months and continues to show why he is currently one of the most talented midfielders in Europe’s football.

Leon Osman told the BBC: “Until Atletico scored, half of that was the best of the season in terms of Liverpool being in control.

The 23-year-old Dutch International has helped Liverpool control the tempo of the game, and he has helped him defensively as well.

Arne Slot has been pleased with Dutch International’s performance so far. The midfielder builds on an impressive start to the season and tries to continue performing at a high level. Liverpool hopes to win the league title and the UEFA Champions League this season, and the Dutchman has to do his best for that to happen.

He was crucial to his title win last season and is likely to play an integral role again this season.
