Slaven Bilic is linked with his return to West Ham United as the club sees him as a potential replacement for the struggling Graham Potter.

However, former Premier League president and critic Simon Jordan provided a sharp criticism of the idea, raising doubts on both Billick’s previous firing from the club and his suitability to return.

Jordan expressed confusion at West Ham fans’ enthusiasm for Billick’s potential comeback. He is also skeptical of his recent coaching record.

He further noted that since leaving West Ham, management stints at Billick’s Saudi Arabia and West Bromwich Albion have been marked by mediocre win rates.

Jordan said on Talksport:

“I think he was fired because his perspective changed and ownership wasn’t used to what he was doing. The fans were on a turn.

“I respect Billick, I love him so much, I love him, I love him. He’s a great speaker and a great personality. But what has he done since he left West Ham?”

Billick, who previously oversaw West Ham’s final season at Upton Park and enjoyed an impressive campaign, was eventually fired in a poor format. His time, when West Ham failed to meet the promises presented during his first spell, led to questions about the club’s wisdom, bringing home a manager whose recent records don’t inspire confidence.

As West Ham’s Premier League struggle continued, the club’s decision that Billick could bring back has sparked criticism. Rather than returning to past glory, a fresh idea is needed, and a candidate with a genuine pedigree should be the appointment of West Ham’s next managerial position.
