Kobbie Mainoo faces an uncertain future at Man United and fell into a pecking order under manager Reuben Amorim. He wanted to leave in the summer, but on that occasion the club refused to allow the deal.

It is expected that Mineu will pick up in minutes in the coming months, given he is competing with Captain Bruno Fernandez. Because of this, he could be leaving in January and Newcastle is one of the clubs interested in dealing with Man United, but that’s unlikely to happen.

According to a football insider, Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Man United plans to keep Mine for the rest of the season.

“In the summer window, I reported that Newcastle was one of the clubs that had seen Mine, so obviously that interest didn’t go away much and we’ll continue to monitor his situation at Old Trafford.

“United clearly blocked a potential move in the summer window as he felt he needed him in the middle. We can’t see United as willing to leave again in the January transfer period.”

Mainoo’s situation will be something to be seen in the weeks leading up to the January transfer period. He wants to play football regularly, but if Fernandez is still healthy, he won’t be too noticeable for Man United. And if this happens, it’s no surprise to see him make new efforts to leave the club when the opportunity appears.
