Joke, the fugitive begins at the opening ceremony of the Ryder Cup

Farmingdale, N.Y. — The opening tee was still shot two days apart, and gamemanship at the Ryder Cup began Wednesday, when European captain Luke Donald took a subtle jab during his speech at the opening ceremony.

“We’re fueled to things that we can’t afford,” Donald said.

Europe, 1 up.

And US Captain Keegan Bradley made the first bogey of these matches in 1999 when he spoke about being around the 17th green at Brookline, one of the biggest moments in the history of the Ryder Cup.

Europe, 2.

Actual golf won’t start at Rowdy Bethpage Black until Friday morning. Over 5,000 fans attending the ceremony were able to feel their presence with the constant chant “America!” And booing powder for Europeans.

Donald is the first European to become captain in consecutive Ryder Cup matches since Bernard Gallacher (1991-95). He was refined in Rome and was equally distinguished from sending this week’s clear message using perfect Italian in a short message to his fans.

Europe actually owns a modern-day Ryder Cup dating back to 1979, and has built a legacy of the team with the highest confidence in its rigor.

“The American teams are rightly and proud of their legacy, and so are us,” Donald said. “Our European heritage is rooted in resilience, unity and proven people wrong. Many times, we have shown that when we come together as something that has a shared purpose, we can achieve amazing things.”

Donald wasted some time bringing money to the conversation, saying that the Ryder Cup “is not about prize money or world ranking points.” That’s a pride. ”

Since 1999, Americans have received $200,000 to donate to charities. This year my charity amount was $300,000 and my salary is $200,000. American players say they will donate the entire $500,000 from the start to donate to community charities.

Still, it’s enough ammunition for Europeans and saying that they don’t need compensation to compete for the 17-inch gold trophy suggests that it’s an example of why the Ryder Cup means more to them than the Americans.

Europe has won 10 of the last 14 against American teams that usually look stronger on paper in terms of world rankings and major championships. Now he is about to win his fifth victory in US soil. The Americans did not win in Europe for 32 years.

“We didn’t come here just to be part of the show. We came here to win our place in the folklore of the Ryder Cup,” Donald said. “We play not only to win, we play for each other, and for all the young golfers returning home who dream of a day representing Team Europe.

“We know it’s not easy. We’ll never win,” Donald said. “The toughest paths lead to the greatest reward.”

Having to wait for the chant to die, Bradley spoke about his own history as New England, primarily the son of a PGA expert – his aunt, Pat Bradley, played for St. John’s and a fantastic LPGA tour of the World Golf Hall, where he played for Beth Page Black when his teammates targeted Nos.

He introduced the team and dropped local references and unveiled New Jersey’s world number one Scotty Scheffler. That’s where Schaeffler was born and lived until his family moved to Dallas when he was six years old.

Bradley said the Ryder Cup became personal at the 1999 match when he was 13, sitting on his father’s shoulder with “Justin Rose’s Miracle Put Drop-On 17” and how his father took part in the celebration when the match ended on the 18th.

“That was the moment when golf stopped becoming a game and started calling,” Bradley said. “That day changed my life.”

Bradley was thinking of being the first captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963. He finished 10th in the rankings.

Eventually he decided he was chosen as captain and was seen as a selfless move that showed that his only concern was to black Beth Page with the Ryder Cup.

Bradley and other Americans rely on the support of many crowds. Bethpage Black hosted two US Opens, a PGA Championship and two FedEx Cup Playoff events on the PGA Tour. One theme is a gallery that doesn’t contain anything to tell golfers what they’re thinking in their “their” course. Sergio Garcia was so annoyed he pointed at him pointing his finger – yes, the one in the middle.

But now there is a flag involved in a match that is packed with emotions from the start.

“Bethpage Black is known as People’s Country Club. It’s called the Home Course in New York,” Bradley said. “But this week, with your passion and your energy, you’re going to make it an American home course.”

The opening ceremony usually ends on Thursday afternoon with the captain unveiling the lineup for the opening foursome session. It went up a day due to rain forecasts before Donald and Bradley were able to deliver the lineup.
