It was Monday’s Barondoor Ceremony, a mixed night for the Chelsea men’s team.

On one hand, the last 30 players only had one club representative, while on the other hand, Cole Palmer came in eighth place.

Bruce never actually won a player award in the book, but like Frank Lampard and Gorguinho, they came very close.

But the current team has players who managed to become the first Chelsea player while trading at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea at the Ballon d’Or since 2021

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and football closures, there was no Barondoor ceremony in 2020.

So the first ceremony in the 2020s took place in 2021 and was fantastic for Chelsea.

With them being champions in the Champions League at that point, the Bruce had five players in the book, making it the final 30, with Yorginho third.

However, as the 21/22 season did not progress accurately, the presence of the West Londoners at the following year’s ceremony drastically reduced to one player in Antonio Rudiger.

Things got worse in 2023. The youngster did not appear in the final ten of the Copa Trophy as one player from the men’s team was not included in the final list of candidates.

Things have improved somewhat as Palmer ranked 27th last year and 8th this year. But in both cases he was the only representative of the men’s team.

That said, there are certain young people in the current team who have a pure chance to win a Chelsea award. We are not talking about British people or recently signed Garnacho.

So the first thing to say is, I don’t think Garincho is good enough to win the Baron de Or, but I have never shown us anything else to suggest Palmer Mite.

After all, the British appeared on the finalist twice and appears to be back at his best.

But in this example, we’re talking about another player who could become Estebao, Chelsea’s first winner.

The West Londoners hit several other topsides in his signature in the summer of 2024, but due to his age he had to wait another year to formally join Maresca’s team.

During his stay at Palmeiras, 18-year-old Wonder Kid accumulated an impressive tally of 27 goals and 15 assists in a total of 5,610 minutes.

In other words, he maintained average goal involvement every 1.97 games or every 133.57 minutes.

Such profit margins are very impressive for veteran attackers, but they come from teenagers and it comes from this world.

It would go a long way when respected analyst Ben Matinson lends credit to the claim that the Franca-born gem is the “future Baron de or winner.”

In addition to the exploitation of his hometown, the dynamic winger has already looked dangerous in his short Chelsea career.

Upon getting off the bench he was a constant threat and then provided a great assist for Joao Pedro during his first Premier League start with West Ham United.

Finally, he already won seven senior caps in Brazil, where he won his first international goal.

Ultimately, Chelsea has a lot of great players, but I think Estebao could be his first time playing Barondoor or winner.
