It is essential that Newcastle sign a replacement as it is expected to sell Alexander Isaac to Liverpool this summer. They’ve already missed out on Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko and others, but that hasn’t stopped efforts to bring in a new number nine.

Newcastle’s sports division is looking at a number of players who are now confirmed to have been confirmed to have been on strike after ruling themselves from Saturday’s Premier League opening fight against Aston Villa. And one of those on the agenda is Porto striker Sam Agehoe.

The 21-year-old, who scored 29 goals since joining Porto from Atletico Madrid last summer, is considered one of the world’s best young strikers, and Newcastle could end in the coming weeks.

According to Football Insider, Mick Brown confirmed that Newcastle is considering trading Swallow Haho this summer.

“Everyone knows Newcastle needs a new striker. They had a few players on that list, but they’re now down that list. Their real top targets, like Joan Pedro, Ekitique and Sesco, all chose to go elsewhere, so they had to look at other options.

“But their scouts were looking at Porto’s Sam. He wasn’t their first choice, but he was watching because they had known for a while and knew what he could do.

“They know what they are in and may have lost Isaac and if that happens at this stage they will have plans. I don’t think they are the only people interested.

It is still unclear whether Newcastle will be able to sign Aghehowa this summer, but if not, there is a high chance that Isak will remain on Tyneside.
