The Rider Cup is an absolute explosion for golf fans thanks to its format. There are team-oriented events that test chemistry and teamwork. One of them is an event that leads you to Friday and Saturday mornings.

How does it work? What format is it? We are here to help. This shows the rules and how it works:

Team USA and Team Europe have two teams each playing against each other. They are to substitute tee shots on each hole – so the format is also known as “alternate shots” – the team with the lowest score will win the hole.

How is Foursome different from Fourball?

Foursomes features teams alternate shots. In the 4-ball, each of those pairs plays their own shots after taking them. The lowest score for each of these teams is counted, with the lowest score between the US and Europe earning holes.

that’s it! Enjoy the competition.
