Video: Arne Slot praises Liverpool forwarding targets before PL Clash

Liverpool manager Arne Slot had praised Crystal Palace centre back Marc Guehi. This was something I missed after not forgetting to sign during the summer.

England International was very close to moving to Anfield late during the transfer period, with reliable outlets like the Athletic Report that the deal was agreed to.

However, this is late and Liverpool must be even more regretful as they have confirmed the blow from Giovanni Leoni’s injuries this morning.

This leaves the red lacking in back depth. That’s why I was so enthusiastic about people like gamehee in the first place.

Instead, Liverpool will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tomorrow at Premier League meetings when he is 25 years old.

When he was asked about Guehi at a press conference, see the slot’s response below…

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Dutch tactician was not very keen to talk about the LFC that missed Guehi, but it’s clear that he still appreciates the players very well.

Slots focuses on the entire palace, with Oliver Glasner’s side being in great form at the moment, unbeaten in the past 17 games.

Guehi is a large part of it with his solid defensive display for the palace, and there are plenty of Liverpool fans this weekend and you’ll wonder if he could have moved to Anfield on the line in the summer.

Liverpool continues to link with Guehi, but as reported here about daily briefings, the Merseyside giant also has interest in Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo as a possible alternative in that position.
