Morgan Rogers reportedly began meeting with Aston Villa about the new contract, amid the assign rights from Chelsea.
England International won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award for outstanding performance in the Premier League last season.
As reported here, Chelsea is keen on Rogers as they will see the top young offensive player in 2026, but the 23-year-old could probably stay at Villa Park.
According to Football Insider, Rogers has already begun new contract talks with the Midlands outfit, and he is keen to reward him with his high performance level.
Chelsea’s Morgan Rogers chase blows, but there are other options
The news may be frustrating for Chelsea fans, but I imagine Bruce will continue to monitor development in case talks with the villa are nowhere positive.
Still, the CFC also has other targets on the list, including the young Turkish talent of Juventus Kenan Ildis and the Belgian winger Malik Foffana in Lyon.
With the advantage of being proven in the Premier League, it makes sense to make the former Middlesbrough youngster a priority.
Keeping Rogers boosts your villa needs
The season has started off tough for Villa, who just won the first victory of the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Bologna in the Europa League this week.
Also, there was a big change at the board level and Monki left as sports director, so the club was undoubtedly able to carry out some good news.
Keeping Rodgers is a huge boost to the team’s present and future, so fans are definitely keeping an eye on this situation and hope that AVFC will stop being poached by people like Chelsea in the near future.
