Manchester United were deeply connected with Emiliano Martinez during the summer transfer.
They wanted to sign the Aston Villa star, but instead they ended up signing Senne Ranmen.
The talented young Belgian has yet to get regular opportunities at Old Trafford. There have been rumours that Manchester United could bring another goalkeeper in the near future.
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown revealed to football insiders that he wouldn’t be surprised if Manchester United decided to return to South American goalkeeper in January. There’s no doubt that Martinez is a quality player. He proves that with his clubs and country. He is already at the peak of his career, and he knows the league well. He was able to make an immediate impact at Manchester United.
Lammens may be the top talent of the future, but it will be a better option for now. He will certainly be a major upgrade to Altay Bayindir.
United man returning for Emiliano Martinez?
Brown said: “They have got the Lammen now, but Amorim says they still want a goalkeeper, so the recruitment team is looking at their options.
“He’s a top goalkeeper and Martinez is still one of them, as he’s quickly solving the problems he’s had recently.
“He is strong, impressive, a top shot stopper and a dressing room character, and at this point I feel like there is a huge shortage at Man United.
“It would not be at all surprising to see the manager come back for him, whether it’s January or next summer.”
Martinez’s January move seems difficult
The goalkeeping division was a major issue for Manchester United. They need to bring world-class players into that area of the pitch, and the Aston Villa star is ideal.
But it would be difficult to sign him in January. Aston Villa wouldn’t want to lose a key player like him mid-season. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.
