Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has revealed that he would like to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in the future.

The 22-year-old left Newcastle on financial reasons, but they are keen to bring him back to the club. The 22-year-old has been a standout ever since leaving the club, and there’s no doubt he’ll regret the decision that Newcastle will move him ahead.

Hau told the Telegraph:

“I have great respect for the fact that he is in another football club and would normally never talk about players like that. So I won’t change that stance but… yeah… I’m very sorry. The club gave a lot here in a lot of years.

“It (his sales) wasn’t sitting with me, but as a football club, we were forced to make decisions that we didn’t want to make, and the players who gave them everything to rank up here to try and try to play for Newcastle, that ended with financial restrictions.”

They sold him for a fee of around £35 million to balance the book. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to bring him back to the club in the future. Anderson has received high praise in the Premier League, and he has been described as a “very, very good” player by England manager Thomas Tuschel in the past.

He has all the tools to develop into a top-class player in the future, and Newcastle will do well to ensure his service. The players are also linked to several other top teams. It’s not yet known where he will end. It’s fair to assume he’ll go to a big club soon. He showed that he can compete at the highest level.

If Newcastle could bring him back to the club, it would be a master stroke from them. The 22-year-old could be tempted to return to his childhood club. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.
