Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing VfB Stuttgart defender Finn Jertsch.

SportsBoom reports that Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing the talented defender and are regularly scouting him. Senior scouts from both Premier League clubs were in attendance recently to watch the players play.

The ball-playing defender is highly regarded in Germany and has a bright future ahead of him. German champions Bayern Munich are also closely monitoring his development. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool or Arsenal follow up their interest with a formal offer for his signature.

Tottenham have also been mentioned as potential candidates.

Jertsch has the quality to thrive in the Premier League and could be a quality long-term signing for all three clubs. But it would take a tremendous offer to get the deal done. According to the newspaper, the cost of signing the player could be around 35 million euros. It’s a high price to pay for an unproven talent like him, and it remains to be seen whether Premier League clubs are willing to shell out big bucks for him.

The player has been likened to Mats Hummels for his style of play and has the tools to develop into a quality player with the right guidance. Regular football in England could bring out the best in him.

Liverpool need a replacement for Ibrahima Konate, who will be a free agent at the end of the season. The German defender could be a great option for them. Arsenal, on the other hand, are already rich in defensive talent and it would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in another centre-back. Jertsch should aim to join a club where he can play regularly, and Liverpool could be the perfect fit for him.

Tottenham could lose Cristian Romero in the summer, but he could also be a quality addition to the north London side.
