It appears that Manchester United’s Joshua Zilky is increasingly likely to move when the windows open in January.
Signing with a true hope of being able to form part of United’s attacked spine, the 24-year-old has attracted attention from a string of clubs, both in the Premier League and overseas.
With Benjamin Sesco’s arrival at the club, opportunities are limited for Dutch international attackers.
Joshua Zilkie struggles with playing time
This season, Zirkzee has seen much of the time spent on the bench. And, importantly, they failed to create a team for the match against Sunderland. This is a sign that Ruben Amorim has not included strikers in his plans for this season.
According to TeamTalk, Everton and West Ham have been selected as Premier League clubs that are keeping watch over Zirkzee, but Girkzee has also been mentioned as possible Italian clubs that previously enjoyed success such as Como, as well as historically linked aspects like Juventus and AC Milan.
Amorim has already looked into a Zirkzee alternative in 2026, suggesting that the manager’s long-term blueprint doesn’t depend on him.
Man United attackers have options at the table
Zirkzee believes he can make it in British football, but he has to decide whether staying to fight for a place at United is more favorable than a move that promises opportunities to rebuild his normal game time and confidence.
January appears to be critical, as there is interest from both Italian domestic rivals and clubs, and even mediators report aggressively ringing the market.
Whether United chooses a loan that offers him a few minutes and a route back to form, or a permanent exit to close this chapter depends on the club’s appetite of continuing along with the offer and player Amorim.
