  • Real Madrid remains enthusiastic about William Saliba
  • Will Real Madrid return to Saliba?

Real Madrid will continue to monitor Arsenal defender William Saliba despite the fact that they have signed a new contract with the club.

The 24-year-old is one of the best defenders in the world, and Real Madrid is keen to secure his signature. He has dedicated his long-term future to the London Club. It makes it difficult for the Spanish outfit to sign him right away.

It will be interesting to see if they have decided to make a move for him in the future.

The French international defender has revealed he wants to win a major trophy with Arsenal. If he can win a league title with them, he may be open to trying new challenges in the future. The opportunity to join Real Madrid can be difficult for most players to refuse. They are widely considered the largest club in the world.

Real Madrid remains enthusiastic about William Saliba

Journalist Graeme Bailey argued: “Real Madrid knew what was going on. They knew that he (Saliba) had made great progress in the (Arsenal contract) consultations and had contact with his people.

“They knew he was tied up until 2027, so they just had no choice for now, so they just keep him on the radar, and of course they’ll do.

“Arsenal did a really good job persuading him to stay. Real Madrid will keep an eye on him, but in January it never moved.

“In the end, it was always up to Saliba, as we saw in many of these deals. If he turned down the contract, I think it would have been more important for Madrid to come in the summer.

“But Saliba has made his decision and it has a big impact. Arsenal hopes there will be some knock-on effects on some of the other major players as well.”

Real Madrid has the finances to pay premiums to defenders. It is also unclear whether the official proposal for the upcoming season has decided to formalize interest. For now, Saliba rarely leaves Arsenal.

The gunner will be pleased that the defender has chosen to commit his future to the club. They hope he can lead them to the major trophies now. The French defenders are essential to their hopes of winning silver products.
