Former Manchester United winger Nani aims to criticize the current team and how the club is losing the culture from his time there.

The former Portugal international starred for Man United in some of Sir Alex Ferguson’s best teams, winning four Premier League titles, a Champions League title and other major accolades during his time at Old Trafford.

In an interview with Give Me Sport, Nani spoke about what he thinks is wrong with the current players.

Things have been difficult for United since Ferguson retired in 2013, and the team has never been close to that level since then.

MUFC fans will be keen to see some improvement soon, but Nani believes there are several reasons for optimism.

However, the 38-year-old also said one of the problems was the frequent turnover of players in United’s dressing room.

When Nani arrived, he had players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes to learn from, but new players today are not surrounded by that kind of experience or winning mentality.

“I think what has changed is the number of players who are not used to playing for that club,” he said.

“Before, if you changed one or two players, these two players would adapt to the players already there. Now you change almost all the players, and they don’t know the mentality.”

“So it takes time to receive new messages, understand how the club works and receive the mindset of the fans.

“I don’t know if they will understand the way we played at that club. I think that was the key to the unsuccessful games. But certainly it is creating a new generation and creating a new environment at the club. I believe with those new things we will be successful.”
