Manchester United midfielder Koby Mainu has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The 20-year-old has struggled to get regular minutes at Old Trafford and needs to push on in his quest for regular minutes. He has been linked with multiple clubs.

Manager Pete O’Rourke revealed on Football Insider that there is a real possibility that the 20-year-old could leave the club in January unless the situation changes. He struggles to get regular minutes and won’t want to sit on the bench every week at Manchester United. He wants to maintain his chances of representing England at the World Cup and needs to play more often.

Is Koby Mainu leaving?

He said: “If he’s not playing regularly between now and January, and if the player insists on a potential transfer, there’s a real chance he could move.”

“But Manchester United really don’t want Koby Mainu to leave. They did the same thing in the summer. There was some talk that he might leave and the player was ready to move on in search of regular first-team football.”

“They have blocked any transfer for Mainu and I imagine they will try to do the same in January because United will probably need him this season in case of injury or something else.”

“They will be confident that they can keep everyone and I don’t think they are going to leave such a talented player at United when they probably need all their best players to help Ruben Amorim have a successful season.”

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are prepared to give him further opportunities. The 20-year-old is an incredible talent with a bright future ahead of him, and with the right guidance he could develop into a future star. Losing him would be a blow to Manchester United. It will be interesting to see if they can retain the player for now.

They should do everything in their power to keep a talented young player like him at the club for the long term. Even if that doesn’t happen, don’t let him quit in January. They already lack quality and depth in the middle of the park and losing the 20-year-old in January would be a devastating blow. They will have a hard time replacing players, which will weaken the team significantly.

Meanwhile, the midfielder has been linked with several clubs recently. It is unlikely that there will be a shortage of top teams wanting to sign him, but it remains to be seen how the situation will play out. At 20 years old, he deserves to compete at a high level with big clubs, and it remains to be seen how he will end up.
