Manchester United are interested in signing Crystal Palace attacker Jean-Philippe Mateta in the coming months, according to Fischages.

Although they signed Benjamin Sesco in the summer transfer window, they need more depth in the attack. Signing another quality striker would be ideal for them. He could add a new dimension to their attack. Mateta has been described by manager Thierry Henry as an “old-fashioned striker”.

It will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace are prepared to allow him to leave. Mateta is an important player for the team and losing him will be a blow to the club. They recently confirmed the departure of Eberechi Eze and are expected to also lose Marc Gehi in the coming months.

He is firmly established in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact at Old Trafford. In addition to that, the opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the country would be very exciting for the striker. He is at the peak of his career and this could be his last chance to join an elite club. He could be tempted if a concrete offer to Manchester United is on the table.
