Arsenal legend Martin Keown has praised Gabriel Magalhães after another outstanding performance against Atletico Madrid last night.

The Gunners defeated Diego Simeone’s side 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium, with Gabriel taking the lead with a trademark header from a set-piece.

The Brazilian centre-back is very versatile in such a position and Keown admitted that even if the team knew what he was going to do, they would not be able to stop him.

Declan Rice also set up Gabriel’s goal with a perfect free-kick, but it’s safe to say former defender Keown was really impressed with Gabriel in particular last night.

Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhães is full of praise

Watch the video below where TNT Sports pundit Keown praises Gabriel by name and calls him “ridiculous” after last night’s big win…

“This was a strong message and performance from Arsenal tonight,” Keown said.

“Goals, rice, delivery, always money. Gabriel, you know what he’s going to do, but you can’t stop him. His involvement in goals is really ridiculous.”

Can Arsenal advance in the Champions League?

Arsenal reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last season but were a bit unlucky losing to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Mikel Arteta’s side look even better now and last night’s win against a strong Atletico side really highlights how far they have come.

Gabriel is perhaps the best centre-back in the world at the moment and his goal threat from set-pieces is a very deadly weapon for the Gunners.
