Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Aston Villa’s Harvey Elliott.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined the West Midlands club on loan from Liverpool during the summer. They have an obligation to make this move permanent at the end of the season.

Harvey Elliott has had a hard time

Elliott has not been able to live up to expectations at his new club. He is not a guaranteed starter for them and it will be interesting to see if the young playmaker can establish himself as a player for the West Midlands club. Elliott has one goal to his name this season.

He has shown his quality at Liverpool, and there is no doubt that he has the ability to develop into a central player for Aston Villa. He is still adapting to his new environment and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to perform at a high level in the coming weeks.

Graham Bailey says Liverpool have a buy-back option in his contract and are monitoring his situation closely. It will be interesting to see if he succeeds at Aston Villa and can persuade Liverpool to bring him back to the club in the future.

He told TBR: “Villa insist Elliott is part of their plans, but it’s clear things are not going well.”

“He came on a mandatory basis but in theory he could come back. There is also a buy-back scheme at Anfield and Liverpool value him very highly, so we may not see the last of Elliott at Anfield.

“But as things stand, Liverpool have a strong belief that he will be an Aston Villa player and be successful for them. But it is safe to say that we are monitoring the situation closely.”

If he fulfills his potential, he will no doubt be a great addition to the Premier League champions.

He can play centrally, not only on the wings, but also as an attacking midfielder. He will help create chances and score goals for Aston Villa. It remains to be seen whether Unai Emery will be able to bring out the best in his players in the coming months.
