Liverpool manager Arne Slott has commented on his situation, saying he still feels he has the support of the club’s owners and directors.
The Reds are currently in a terrible run of form, having lost six of their last seven games in all competitions.
Even before that goal, Liverpool had conceded a lot of goals and summer signings like Florian Wirths had underperformed.
However, Slott insists he is still in talks with Liverpool bosses, and it appears Liverpool still support him as manager of the club, just as they did last season.
Arne Slott still backed by Liverpool
As quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano, at yesterday’s press conference Mr. Slott did not appear concerned about the security of his job.
“They tell me the same thing as last year, yeah,” he said. “I mainly talk to Richard Hughes, but sometimes I also talk to other people. They see the same things that I see.”
Slott definitely earned himself a little more time after last season’s success, even if things turned out to be much more difficult for him this term.
The Dutch tactician did a fantastic job leading Liverpool to the Premier League title in his first season in charge and certainly has the ability to turn around the team’s current slump.
What’s next for Liverpool?
Liverpool face Aston Villa in the Premier League tonight, before a big game against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
It won’t be easy, but LFC can get a win here, lift the atmosphere at Anfield and get the team back on track.
Do you think Liverpool can still have a good season? Should Slott safely keep his job? Let us know your opinion in the comments.
