Liverpool manager Arne Slott made reporters laugh at his press conference with some confusing and cryptic comments about Dominik Szoboszlai’s form in recent games.

The Hungarian international has been a mainstay for the Reds since joining the Reds a few years ago, but he has really stepped up to become one of the team’s most important players in recent wins against Aston Villa and Real Madrid.

You can read a tactical analysis of Szoboszlai’s role at Liverpool here, and Slott was also asked ahead of this weekend’s big game against Manchester City.

Check out the video clip below for Slott’s somewhat bizarre response to a question about Szoboszlai’s huge influence in the last two games.

Slott praised Szoboszlai’s huge impact and acknowledged that he has been doing well in the past two games for what he felt were “obvious” reasons, although he did not elaborate on why.

The LFC boss asked the reporter if he knew what he was talking about, to which the reporter replied that he did not, drawing laughter from everyone present.

Slott went on to praise Szoboszlai’s work ethic off the ball, but it’s hard to know exactly why he responded this way to the question in the first place.

Szoboszlai has been at his best when playing centrally this season and was a key part of Liverpool’s successful midfield trio alongside Ryan Gravenbirch and Alexis Mac Allister, who won the title last season.

It will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old can keep up his form when Liverpool take on Man City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

This will be a big challenge, but Liverpool will no doubt be feeling more confident after an impressive win against a big name like Real Madrid in midweek.

If Szoboszlai can continue to play as well as he has, it will give the Reds a great chance of getting something out of their trip to Manchester.
