According to a report from Diario AS, Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is attracting keen attention from Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Both European giants are said to be “closely monitoring” the Hungarian international’s situation at Anfield amid growing uncertainty over his long-term future.
The 25-year-old joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for around £60m and quickly became one of the club’s most influential players under manager Arne Slott.
Szoboszlai has already been directly involved in six goals in 15 games in all competitions this season, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s most dynamic midfielders.

He is a versatile midfielder who can also play in the right-back position, where Slott slotted him when Jeremy Frimpong and Conor Bradley were absent due to injury.
However, Diario AS report that Liverpool are keen to secure Szoboszlai’s future amid growing external interest. His current contract runs until 2028, but the club are currently considering an extension and a significant wage increase to reflect his development within the squad.
Szoboszlai currently earns around €135,000 a week, but Liverpool’s bosses are willing to increase that figure to ensure his loyalty and deter potential suitors.
Both Man City and Real Madrid have been impressed by the Hungarian midfielder’s performances. City in particular have been impressed by his adaptability and athleticism.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are said to be pursuing him as part of their midfield transition plans.
Man City and Real Madrid keep an eye on Szoboszlai
The Whites, who have already brought in Jude Bellingham and other midfielders in recent seasons, are looking for another versatile midfielder who can play in both an advanced and deep role.
Szoboszlai’s performances against Liverpool and Hungary, coupled with his leadership and professionalism, have caught the attention of Madrid’s scouting department.
Neither Man City nor Real Madrid are expected to move him immediately, but both clubs will be monitoring developments closely.
Having lost key players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz this year, the Reds will not want to lose another key member of their starting line, especially against direct rivals Man City in the Premier League.
