Chelsea and Arsenal could reportedly be given a big boost as Kenan Yildiz’s negotiations over a new contract with Juventus appear to have stalled.
No progress is said to have been made with the Turkish international on a new contract with the Turin club, a move that will alarm big-name suitors.
This is according to a report from respected Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, which names Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid as clubs that could compete for his signature next summer.
Yildiz has been the subject of transfer speculation for some time after his successful spell at Juventus, and he is not a player you would want to lose to their main rivals in Europe.
Kenan Yildiz’s transfer situation explained
As previously reported in the Daily Briefing, Yildiz’s asking price could be around 90 million euros, which is still not a cheap deal.
Still, one imagines such a sum shouldn’t be a big problem for clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid, who want to bring in the best players in world football.
Although Yildiz is still young and learning the game, he definitely looks like one of the top prospects in Europe right now.
Even if things don’t go well at Juve, it would definitely open doors for other clubs as well, and it’s easy to see how the 20-year-old would be a good fit for one of the aforementioned big clubs.
Which team should Kenan Yildiz choose?
That’s not a bad problem for Yildiz, as there are good reasons to go to either Chelsea, Arsenal or Real Madrid.
Chelsea’s long-term project around young players should give Yildiz the chance to play regularly and develop, while the Blues also look increasingly close to winning a major title under manager Enzo Maresca.
Mikel Arteta’s side are certainly on the brink of glory and Arsenal, who are likely to get even closer with the addition of top attacking talent like Yildiz, will also be a winning project.
On the other hand, there are very few players who can turn down a big name like Real Madrid. Real Madrid have recently managed to develop their young players while remaining competitive in the biggest competitions.
