  • Arsenal register interest in Yann Diomande
  • Yann Diomande transfer ideal to spark Arsenal’s stagnant attack

Arsenal have been linked with Yann Diomande and my understanding is that Arsenal will have an advantage over Liverpool in the race to sign him.

Speaking to a number of sources close to the situation, it has been revealed that Champions League football is considered essential for Diomande in determining his future.

The Ivory Coast international is yet to decide on his future and could sign a new contract with Leipzig, who are competing for Champions League qualification.

Liverpool, in contrast, could be set back in the race for Diomand as they currently face an uphill battle to qualify for next season’s competition for Europe’s top clubs.

Arsenal register interest in Yann Diomande

Liverpool have been linked with Diomande for some time now, but we now know the Gunners are also interested.

A source said: “Arsenal have contacted people around Diomande to obtain information about his future.” “That doesn’t mean a bid or offer is imminent or certain. But it’s a position they’re looking to strengthen and he’s highly regarded by their recruiting team.”

“Diomande is the player Liverpool want to replace Salah, but the reality is that without a Champions League game they will struggle to sign him. And there is a lot of interest from across Europe, with Arsenal also heavily involved in the signing,” another source added.

Yann Diomande transfer ideal to spark Arsenal’s stagnant attack

Arsenal have had a strange season, sitting at the top of the Premier League table, with their performances, particularly in attack, not looking very convincing.

Mikel Arteta’s side often achieve results through strong defensive structures and the threat of set-pieces, but a player like Diomande could help make them even more of an attacking threat.

The talented 19-year-old has an impressive 11 goals and six assists this season, which could make him an upgrade over the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for a greater emphasis on creativity and talent next season, as Arteta’s tactics this season have not been in line with the club’s tradition.

AFC have always been great entertainers under Arsene Wenger, and even if tactical tweaks have helped improve results, there have been times this season when it has looked like it has taken a toll on the team.
