Manchester United are interested in signing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomez.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has performed well in the Premier League and Gomez is currently on Manchester United’s shortlist of midfielders. Wolves could be under pressure to sell players at the end of the season, especially if they are relegated.

The midfielder will want to compete at the highest level, but he will not want to play in the Championship. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Wolves could be forced to sell Joao Gomez

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider:

“Joao Gomez is the latest name to be added to that list. Again, the same has been proven in the Premier League, which is important for Manchester United in their current transfer policy.”

“The key to this game will be whether Wolves suffer relegation. If they are forced to drop out of the Championship, they will be forced to sell.

“Joao Gomez will also want to continue playing at the highest level.”

Manchester United need more control and composure in the center of the park and the South American could be ideal. He has shown his quality at Wolves and has the technical qualities to play at a bigger club.

He will want to fight for trophies and compete at the highest level. Manchester United could offer him a platform in the coming seasons. They have shown improvement in recent weeks and will be hoping to return to Europe by the end of the season.

On top of that, they are one of the biggest clubs in the country and it would be hard to turn down the opportunity to join. It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United make a formal offer to finalize the deal.

Gomez is also attracting attention from other Premier League clubs.
