Knicks’ Landry Shamet Exits Saturday’s Clash vs. Magic Due to Shoulder Injury

New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet exited Saturday’s game against the Orlando Magic early due to a shoulder injury. The injury occurred when Shamet, along with Anunoby, collided with Jalen Suggs and Wendell Carter Jr. near midcourt. Shamet immediately clutched his right shoulder and headed to the locker room with his trainer.

The Knicks later confirmed that Shamet sustained a shoulder injury before the second quarter began, forcing him to miss the rest of the game. This is the same shoulder Shamet had dislocated during the 2024 preseason. After signing with New York in December, Shamet quickly became an important player off the bench.

Shamet has had some standout performances this season, averaging 9.9 points per game on 45 percent shooting before Saturday. Notably, he hit several crucial three-pointers in the Knicks’ matchup against the Mavericks and scored a career-high 36 points in last Friday’s game against the Heat.

This story is ongoing and more updates may follow.

Fan Take: Shamet’s injury is a significant blow to the Knicks, as he has been a valuable contributor off the bench this season. Basketball fans should watch closely, as his absence could impact the team’s depth and performance moving forward.
