Leeds United are considering selling Illan Meslier in January.
The French goalkeeper has fallen down the pecking order at English clubs and needs to move on if he is to play regularly. Sitting on the bench at Leeds is unlikely to benefit him at this stage of his career.
Ilan Meslier is from Milan.
Meanwhile, SpazioMilan reports that AC Milan are interested in offering him an exit route. Mike Maignan could be leaving the club, with the French goalkeeper being looked at as a possible replacement.
Leeds are unlikely to stand in his way and it will be interesting to see if they can recoup a decent amount for him. The goalkeeper will become a free agent at the end of the season and will be available for free transfer in the summer. It would make sense for Leeds to sell him for a nominal price in January.
AC Milan, on the other hand, would be keen to sign him. He could be a useful player for them. The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the world will be very exciting.
Milan make contact with Meslier
According to the newspaper, the French goalkeeper’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has already been in contact with the Italian club and further talks are expected to take place ahead of the January match period. All parties hope to reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper will be aiming to get his career back on track with first-team action. He is unlikely to get that opportunity at Leeds and will hope the Italian team can provide him with the platform he needs.
