Tottenham Hotspur’s attack in 2025/26 has been far below the standards Thomas Frank expected, with the Dane having worked with a number of elite-level talents to date.
During his time as Brentford manager, he managed the likes of Ivan Toney and Brian Mbeumo, both of whom scored over 20 goals a season in the Premier League.
The Lilywhites currently lack a player capable of achieving such a feat, but Richarlison is currently their top scorer with five goals in his first 12 games.
There is no doubt that investment will be needed during the upcoming transfer window to provide the manager with the ammunition he needs to take the club to the next level.
January is just around the corner and the hierarchy is already wasting no time in targeting multiple players who will improve things within the final third.
Spurs look to add attacking players in January
In recent weeks, Spurs have only been named as one of the Premier League teams interested in signing Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.
They are not alone in their pursuit of the Ghana international, with Arsenal and Liverpool the only other clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old this winter.
According to TEAMtalk, the Lilywhites are willing to meet the attacker’s current £65m release clause, but it is unclear whether the player himself would be open to a move to north London.
However, he is not the only attacker currently on the Spurs organization’s list, with Porto centre-forward Sam Agehowa another talent the board is eyeing.
The Spaniard has already scored 11 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions, before displaying his impressive scoring ability in the final third.
The outlet also confirmed that the Lilywhites are willing to pay £80m to sign the 21-year-old, which could see class officials splash out £145m on the pair.
Why Spurs’ £102,000 target is Frank’s answer to Son and Kane
Spurs fans have been blessed with a wealth of attacking talent in recent seasons, but none more so than Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
The pair have been together in North London for just under 10 years and have broken many long-standing records during their time together.
As a result of their success alongside each other in the Premier League, they combined to score an astonishing 47 goals in England’s top flight.
Such numbers are higher than any other partnership in the division’s 33-year history and highlight the success they achieved when they featured together in Lilywhites.
However, none of the players remain on the North Londoners’ books, with Son moving to LAFC in the recent summer window and Kane joining Bayern Munich just over two years ago.
Frank will no doubt wish he could rely on such stars in the modern era, but he could be on the verge of getting his own version if the bosses complete the deals for Semenyo and Sam in January this year.
The former of the duo will likely occupy the left-wing position, but has been a major attacking threat, as evidenced by his total of nine goals and assists in the Premier League this season.
His basic stats further demonstrate his talent in attacking areas this season, with the Ghanaian creating 1.9 successful dribbles and an average of 1.4 chances per 90.
The Cherries star was equally impressive when not in possession, going on to make 5.3 recoveries in the final third and win 0.9 possessions per 90, both of which rank in the top 15% of attackers in the league.

However, he could form a lethal partnership with Sam in the coming years, with the Spaniard potentially benefiting from Semenho’s qualities in north London.
During his time in Portugal with Porto, the 21-year-old has already shown his clinical qualities, as seen in his impressive 36 goals in his first 60 games for the club.
In this campaign alone, he ranks first with a 64% shooting accuracy and 0.86 goals per 90 points.
8% of all strikers in Europe so far.
His record of 5.9 touches per 90 inside the opposition box shows his talent as a picker, which could allow him to end Semenyo’s mad run in north London.
The duo, who earn a combined £102,000, were reported to cost £145m in January this year, but such figures would represent excellent business for two players of such quality.
The club has lacked quality in the forward areas since the respective departures of Kane and Son, and the various moves of Semenyo and Sam have finally handed Frank the talent they have been crying out for since taking charge.
