According to a new report from TEAMtalk, Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to make a new move for Erling Haaland if Vinicius Junior decides to leave the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Spanish giants are doing everything they can to convince the Brazilian superstar to sign a new long-term deal, but tensions between Vinicius and manager Xabi Alonso have complicated negotiations, potentially opening the door to another blockbuster transfer drama.
Vinicius, 25, is one of Real Madrid’s most important players, but his contract expires in 2027 and extension talks have stalled.
Sources close to the club say the winger is reluctant to commit to his long-term future until he has more clarity about his role under Alonso.
Vinicius Junior is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid
The Brazilian has reportedly grown frustrated with the tactical adjustments and lack of attacking freedom since the Basque manager took over in the summer.
If Vinicius leaves, Real Madrid are expected to focus all their attention on Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, whom they have admired for many years.
Los Blancos see Haaland as the ideal successor to Karim Benzema and the perfect attacking partner for Kylian Mbappé.
The prospect of a partnership between Haaland and Mbappé excites both Madrid’s leadership and fans alike, with club president Florentino Perez keen to rebuild a new ‘galactico’ era around two of Europe’s most prolific young forwards.
However, the same report claims that Man City are not worried about losing Haaland anytime soon.
Man City are not concerned about Haaland’s future
The 25-year-old Norwegian striker remains fully committed to Josep Guardiola’s project and has settled in Manchester, where he has scored an impressive number of goals since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
City officials insist there are no signs that Haaland is dissatisfied. Despite this, Real Madrid’s admiration for Haaland never waned. The club will be monitoring his performances closely and Perez remains convinced that the striker’s marketability and stability are a good fit for the club’s long-term ambitions.
Madrid are reportedly willing to make a record offer if given the opportunity, especially if Vinicius’ departure leaves a void on and off the pitch.
