Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing Sascha Boii from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.

According to a report via GMS, they are looking to strengthen their squad in January and have named the defender as a potential target. He has struggled to gain regular appearances at the German champions and will need to leave the club in order to play more often.

Can Palace convince Sascha Boye to join?

It will be interesting to see if he is willing to move to Crystal Palace. The Eagles already have Daniel Muñoz at their disposal, who has been outstanding for the London club. Boy may also struggle to feature regularly for English clubs. Crystal Palace are unlikely to drop Munoz from their starting lineup to accommodate the French defender. The South American has been outstanding since joining Crystal Palace.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.

The defender will be desperate to get his career back on track and leaving the German club would be ideal for him. He needs to find a club where he can get regular chances. Sitting on the bench at Bayern Munich or Crystal Palace won’t do him any favors. He is at the peak of his career and needs more opportunities to continue his development.

If the defender ends up moving to the London club, he is likely to be a back-up option for the national team. Munoz played every moment of his time in the Premier League for Crystal Palace and was outstanding. There’s no reason for coach Oliver Glasner to drop a player late in the season and replace him with Boyi. It remains to be seen whether the French player would be willing to take on such a role at an English club.
