Manchester United managed to get back to winning ways in the Premier League last night with a 4-1 thrashing of bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ruben Amorim’s team produced their best performance of the season so far, finishing in sixth place, just one point off the top four.

There is no doubt that all the supporters were excited at the break after manager Jean-Richner Bellegarde confirmed that the match went into the break in a balanced manner.

However, with three goals in the second half, the Red Devils secured their seventh league win of the 2025-26 season, extending their losing streak to just one in their last nine games.

A player deserves huge praise for his performance at Molineux on Monday night, with the first-team squad doing well in a well-deserved win.

Bruno Fernandes’ stats against Wolves

Bruno Fernandes has often struggled throughout the ongoing campaign as manager Amorim decided to use him in a deeper midfield position rather than in the number 10 position.

The Portugal international has been asked to think more defensively, which has no doubt affected his performance inside the final third in the Premier League.

However, his performance against Rob Edwards’ side was perhaps his best of the season so far, with the 31-year-old scoring two goals and providing one assist in the win.

This brought his total of goals and assists to 10 in the first 15 games of the season, but it was the underlying numbers that highlighted his impressive performance.

He was present throughout the contest, completing 55 passes and creating five chances for his teammates, both the most of any player in the meeting.

Bruno also completed 12 passes into the final third and only missed eight in total, further highlighting his incredible performance with the ball at his feet.

But even without the ball, the midfielder was just as impressive, as evidenced by his 100% tackle success rate, seven successful recoveries and five combined aerial and ground wins.

A United player who is just as irresistible as Bruno.

There is no denying that Bruno is unstoppable and is undoubtedly one of Amorim’s most important players, as evidenced by his record of starting 15 of the 15 games he could play in the 2025/26 season.

Many other players are starting to push themselves into that slot, and Brian Mbemo is just one of those players who should be a starter every week.

The Cameroon international scored again in the West Midlands clash, taking his tally to six league goals this season, the most of any player in the squad.

He had four shots on target against the hosts and also completed two dribbles. In last night’s win, he was primarily a threat to the Wolves backline.

However, the backline has been a cause for concern in recent weeks, particularly with centre-back Matthijs de Ligt missing the last two games.

As a result, youngster Aiden Haven was thrown into the deep end, but managed to make an impression. The performance at Molineux was certainly one to remember.

In only his second start of the season, the 19-year-old remained unfazed, producing impressive numbers that could make him a force to be reckoned with in his current manager’s squad.

The teenager completed 36 passes during his time on the pitch, going on to achieve a 100% pass completion rate, the highest of any player who started the game.

He also had seven successful clearances, three of them by his head, and three recoveries, which allowed him to be in the right place at the right time when called upon.

Haven’s dominance in the heart of the three-man defense was further emphasized by their impressive total of six duels won. This also had a 100% success rate.

It’s no mean feat for such a young defender to start in the middle of a Premier League defence, but heaven has made it seem routine in recent weeks.

There’s no doubt Amorim will have to live up to expectations given his young age, but it’s certainly hard not to be excited about the youngster after his exploits at Molineux.

He has certainly done enough to secure a place in the starting eleven ahead of Christmas and could be a huge asset to the club as they aim for Premier League glory in the coming years.
