Crystal Palace hope to agree a new contract with Daichi Kamata.

The Japan international has shown remarkable success since joining the London club. He is nearing the end of his contract and will become a free agent in the summer. According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace are now keen to keep him at the club long-term.

Palace want Daichi Kamata to sign new contract

“Kamada has become an important player for Palace.” Mick Brown told Football Insider.

“He has settled into the team really well, especially after a slow start to the season, and he was obviously key to the team that won the FA Cup last year.

“He is another example of what I think is the best thing about Crystal Palace. He works hard for the team, plays his role and has no ego or arrogance.

“From what I’ve heard, the management and the coaching staff think very highly of him and when they can build that kind of relationship, it’s always a positive thing.

“Palace recognize what he brings to the team and are determined to keep him, given how impressive he has been.”

He has been an important player for them since joining on a free transfer and it makes sense for them to tie him to a new deal. It will be interesting to see if they can come to an agreement with the player.

He can play multiple roles and will add goals and creativity to the side. Crystal Palace are already likely to lose Marc Guehi soon and will not want to lose the midfielder either. It remains to be seen whether the player is ready to commit his future to the club.

He is enjoying his football in the Premier League, playing in a competitive team with a quality manager. There is no reason for him to leave the club and it is reasonable to assume that an agreement will eventually be reached.

Crystal Palace recently won the FA Cup and Community Shield. They will be fighting for trophies on a fairly regular basis and need to keep their best players. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
