Manchester United and AS Roma are in regular talks over the future of Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, Sky Sports Italia reports.
The 24-year-old striker, who is attracting significant interest across Europe, could be on the verge of leaving Old Trafford, with interest in his services increasing as his future at the Premier League giants remains uncertain.
Zirksee, currently unpopular at Old Trafford, has struggled to maintain consistency under manager Ruben Amorim this season, leading to growing speculation about his possible departure.

West Ham United and several Serie A clubs have expressed interest, but the structure of the deal remains a key point of contention, although reports suggest Roma are leading the negotiations.
United hope to be granted a full sale during the winter period as they look to raise funds to reinvest elsewhere, particularly in midfield.
The Red Devils believe Zirkzee does not fit Amorim’s tactical setup and are willing to let him go.
However, Roma are seeking a rental agreement with a conditional option to buy. Their approach is shaped by financial constraints under UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations and a cautious attitude towards committing to a permanent transfer midway through the season.
Zirkzee moved to England after a prolific spell at Bologna, joining Man United with much fanfare.

However, despite his technical talent and link-up play, he was unable to establish a regular starting role under Amorim.
The Dutchman’s versatility, as he can function as both a false nine and a support striker, has drawn praise from Serie A managers, particularly Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who reportedly considers him ideal for his tactical system.
The club’s American owners want to support Gasperini in the January period, but need to do so strategically to avoid breaching spending limits.
Amorim wants to rebuild his squad with more dynamic midfield options, which means a sale like Zirkzee could help free up both budget and space in the squad.
