The atmosphere around Arsenal is much more tense than it was a few weeks ago.
Indeed, Mikel Arteta’s side remain top of the Champions League and Premier League, but their recent performances leave room for improvement.
Furthermore, Josep Guardiola’s Manchester City, especially Phil Foden, appear to be returning to their best form.
But while the atmosphere around the club is a bit down at the moment, there is still plenty of optimism for Arsenal, and there could be even more optimism if Arteta brings in more of his version of Foden in place of Martin Odegaard and Ebelesi Eze.
Oudegalar and Eze seasons so far
Now, it must be said that neither Odegaard nor Eze have had a bad season for Arsenal so far.
In fact, both players have left some very impressive moments in Kohaku, but it is also true that there have been some disappointing moments as well.
It would be an understatement to say that few players, including the former Crystal Palace star, have excited fans as much with their signings during his time at the Emirates.
However, although he scored an astonishing hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur and displayed acrobatic performances against his own team, there were many games in which he was a complete ghost.
For example, he was sent off at half-time in an away game to Aston Villa, and in a home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers he was unable to produce much of anything and had to be sent off again.
That being said, Eze’s talent is still incredibly evident and he will no doubt become more and more effective for the North Londoners as time goes on.
Moving on to the club captain, the most disappointing aspect of his campaign so far this year has been that he hasn’t gotten enough minutes.
The Norwegian is not as flashy as his English counterpart, but his ability to move the ball around the pitch, instigate the press and maintain possession has served the team well in recent years.
So the fact that he’s played just 620 minutes in 13 games and already missed 66 days due to injury this year is far from ideal.
Additionally, and this is understandable, he can sometimes look a little rusty when he comes out or starts a game.
Overall, Eze and Odegaard are very talented footballers, but Arteta doesn’t need to rely solely on them, especially when there are players in the team who could be Arsenal’s answer to Foden.
Arsenal’s response to Foden
Arsenal have a lot of really talented players in their squad, but when it comes to players who could be the answer to Foden, only one player comes to mind. That’s Ethan Nwaneri.
Now, this isn’t to say that the Hail Ender is as good as the City star at the moment.
But there’s a good chance the youngster will be just as much of a game-changer as his compatriot, especially since there are already some similarities between them.
For example, both players come from the academies of ‘big six’ teams. They are both British and, more importantly, they share some similarities in the way they play the game.
Like the City star, the 18-year-old is primarily an attacking midfielder but has plenty of experience playing out wide and has shown he can play at a high level.

For example, the often “unplayable” dynamo nicknamed Jack Wilshere played in 37 games for a total of 1378 minutes, scoring nine goals and recording two assists.
This means that the teenage prodigy is involved in an average of one goal every 3.36 games and, more importantly, one goal every 125.27 minutes, which helps justify Joe Cole’s claim that he is the most exciting footballer in England, and perhaps Europe.
This highlights another trait that both players share. It’s the desire to move the ball forward and take every opportunity to take a shot or create chances for your teammates.
In other words, while a player like Odegaard may be happier holding onto the ball and taking careful angles, the two English players are more explosive and more direct.
After all, with all this in mind, one analyst’s claim that “Ethan Nwaneri will become Arsenal’s version of Phil Foden” seems perfectly reasonable as long as he starts getting more game time.
Arsenal’s failure is fast becoming the worst addition since Mustafi
Things aren’t looking too good for Arsenal’s star this season.
