Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to sign Tottenham’s rising star.

Yang Min-hyuk, who signed with the Premier League side in the summer of 2024, has been on loan to gain experience and has yet to appear in a competitive match for Tottenham.

Nevertheless, the European champions appear to see enough potential to make an early pounce on the teenager.

According to a report from Spain’s Defensa Central, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Yan’s development and are formulating a strategy to persuade Tottenham to sell him.

The report suggests Los Blancos view the move as a low-risk, high-return investment for the future.

The La Liga giants are reportedly willing to offer an initial fee of around £4.4m (€5m), with a further £1.8m (€2m) in performance-related add-ons.

The proposed roadmap for the ‘very impressive’ Tottenham starlet includes a first stint at the club’s reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla, to help him adapt to Spanish football and the club’s philosophy.

Real Madrid scouts believe his technical profile fits their long-term vision and the plan is for him to progress into the first-team set-up once he has adapted to life in Madrid.

If Real Madrid sign the youngster, Yan will join a prestigious list of players who have moved from north London to the Spanish capital.

The relationship between the two clubs has been defined by blockbuster transfers that have shaped Real Madrid’s modern history.

Luka Modric arrived from Tottenham in 2012 and went on to become a Ballon d’Or winner and one of the best midfielders in the club’s history.

A year later, Spurs sanctioned the sale of Gareth Bale for what was then a world record fee, and the Welshman went on to win multiple Champions League games, delivering iconic goals and decisive moments.
