World Superbike organizers have revealed a revamped schedule for the 2026 season after MotoGP, its sister series, relocated a few years ago. The new format centers on Saturday and Sunday, with World Superbike’s main races now serving as the final events of each day.

In the past, World Superbike races were followed by contests in other championship categories. However, inspired by recent changes from MotoGP, overseen by Dorna, the format has been adjusted to create a clearer race hierarchy.

Saturday’s action kicks off at noon with the first round of the World WCR, followed by the new World Sportbike class at 1 p.m. World Supersport races at 2 p.m., and the first World Superbike feature race concludes the day at 3:30 p.m. On Sunday, events start with the World Superbike Super Pole Race at 11:10 a.m., with the rest of the schedule mirroring Saturday’s structure.

A championship press release shared that the updated itinerary was created with input from key stakeholders to foster a more logical and engaging race weekend flow. It highlighted that finishing each day with WorldSBK race awards and paddock shows allows fans to fully savor the climax of the day’s competition in the paddock area, enhancing the overall WorldSBK experience.

The statement also emphasized that the new structure underscores the championship’s sporting hierarchy while delivering intense and rewarding entertainment throughout the weekend.

The 2026 season is set to start from February 20-22 at Phillip Island.

Fan Take: This new schedule is an exciting step forward for racing fans, as it clearly highlights the prestige of World Superbike as the weekend’s main event. By building up to thrilling finales each day, it promises to heighten fan engagement and make the race weekends even more captivating.
