The New Jersey Devils faced off against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday night, with the puck dropping at 10:22 p.m. ET. After a hard-fought 60 minutes, including overtime and a shootout, the Devils emerged victorious, winning 2-1. Connor Brown scored the lone regulation goal, while Jesper Bratt contributed the decisive shootout goal. Goalie Jake Allen was stellar, making 37 saves out of 38 shots faced.

The Devils built momentum early, with Brown scoring unassisted just four minutes into the second period after stealing the puck and beating Vegas goalie Carter Hart for his eighth goal of the season. Brown has grown into a key player both on the ice and within the team’s locker room leadership, alongside veterans Brendan Dillon, Jacob Markstrom, and Allen. Brown emphasized the importance of vocal leadership to his game, aiming to help the team take the next step forward with their skilled roster.

With just over four minutes remaining in regulation, Vegas evened the score at 1-1 on a power-play goal by Pavel Dorofeev, marking his first career goal against Allen. The game went into overtime where Allen’s strong goaltending continued, stopping all five shootout shots while Bratt clinched the win for New Jersey.

Returnee Brett Pesce played his first game since October 26th, logging nearly 24 minutes on ice, the most this season. Pesce showcased his commitment by contributing three shots on goal and three blocked shots. He expressed relief and satisfaction at being back on the ice after his absence, and coach Keefe praised his impactful presence, especially on the penalty kill.
